Some of the students, or you may be, think that college life is so complicated and that there are so many things to be done. Like studying, doing homework, having group discussions and projects, joining student association or extracurricular, maintaining the relationship with family and friends, doing your hobby, etc.
There isn’t any room left for you to prepare for your future life and career.

College should be the place for you to learn, grow, and prepare for your life and career. Then if the college, or you, doesn’t know how to achieve that, the internship may be the answer. Working as an intern is the most advantageous plan of action if you want to gain experience.

From dictionary.com, the word internship is defined as “any official or formal program to provide practical experience for beginners in an occupation or profession”.

Moreover, “Graduating students with paid or unpaid internships on their resume have a much better chance at landing a full-time position upon graduation.” says Melissa Benca, director of career services at Marymount Manhattan College in New York City. That is, employers value internship experience because it provides students with the skills and experience that they cannot earn in the school setting.

Therefore, what are other benefits from internship? Here are 5 reasons why internship is important.

1 thought on “Why Internship Is Important?”

  1. I agree with what you said the internship gives students the opportunity to learn from experts in their field of study and build their network. Personally, I believe that networking is important because those people could help you in the future to get jobs, get promoted, or meet new clients. That’s the reason why I’ve been adamant that my daughter starts looking for veterinary internship opportunities nearby. I’ll share this article with her later to motivate her to look for internships. Thanks!
