Hello youth leaders, preparing for a bright future must be prepared as soon as possible. Youth age is the right time to increase and upgrade your skills. There are two types of skills you need to  understand which is hard skills and soft skills.

Hard skills is technical skills that most projects require, and soft skills are the interpersonal skills and attributes you need to succeed in the workplace. it’s important to show employers that you have the combination of these skills when you’re applying and interviewing for jobs.

In this article, I will enlighten you about how to prepare yourself for your future job:

1. Analytical Thinking Skills

With analytical skills, employees are expected to organize, plan, and prioritize effectively. This skills cannot be replaced 100% with any other technology, which is why these skills will always become valuable skills in the future. 

2. Creativity

In the future, people must be creative to realize the benefits of all the new things or new products for the future, ways of working and technologies. The future workplace is going to demand new ways of thinking, and human creativity is the key to it. 

3. Emotional Intelligence

A person needs to be aware of their control to express their own emotions as well as being conscious of the emotions of others describes their emotional intelligence. These skills help us tune into the kaleidoscope of human emotions, and measure how good we are at adjusting our Behaviour depending on the mood of a colleague, or even our own internal feelings.

4. Active Learning With Growth Mindset

A person with a growth mindset understands that their abilities and intelligence can be developed and they know their effort to build skills will result in higher achievement. They will, therefore, take on challenges, learn from mistakes and actively seek new knowledge.  

5. Leadership

Leadership is one of the important soft skills you need to have. Having leadership skills is about helping others become the best versions of themselves which will be very important for the future workforce. Leadership also contributes to managing your team such as motivating and maximising their productivity and also responding to their needs.

6. Teamwork

Most of companies are forcing their employees to being able to work on team. To have a good atmosphere among your team, you have to be able to work with a range of different personalities, have good communications skills, build more awareness of other people’s strengths and weaknesses. 

When you are in an interview, make sure that you share examples of how you worked well on a team. Your level of teamwork indicates your ability to collaborate effectively with a wide variety of people.

7. Complex Problem Solving

In work-place you will face some problems and make a decision about the business strategies, concept of selling and etc. To solve the problem, you need to think with logical reasoning to interrogate some issues or problems, consider various solutions to the problem, and weigh up the pros and cons of each approach.

8. Negotiation

Negotiation is often used when you are entering a work-place. It plays a vital role to show your greater interpersonal skills, and being able to negotiate with your colleagues, managers, clients and teams will be vital.

9. Technology Skills

Most positions require at least at least some technology skills especially in this 4.0 era. This era are fueled by technological innovations such as artificial intelligence, big data, virtual reality, block-chains, and more. People need to understand the potential impact of technology on their industry. 

Spending youth time might be full of excitement and having fun, but you need to remember that you are growing and will leave school or graduate from university someday. To have a successful career, you need to continuously update your skill set to suit future work needs.
